Fellowships in computational biology and related fields

Relevant sources of support for domestic and international scientists (including minority fellowships) are listed here. Please note the following:

Some items are out of date-- please email me (myfirstnamehere.mylastnamehere@nist.gov) with any useful updates, corrections or additions.
most of the listings are for post-docs (only a few for grads)
post-doc fellowhips generally cannot be used to extend a current position; most (not all) are restricted to persons who have graduated in the past 5 years (but this limit keeps going up).

General Information, Resources, and Amusement

PhDs.org provides science, math, and engineering career resources.
GrantsNet and Community of Science provide information on grants in aid of research. Search them regularly for post-doctoral opportunities in bioinformatics, computational biology, biochemistry, genetics, biology, and molecular biology.
The Post-Doctoral Scholars Association page at UCSF provides links to useful resources.

U.S.A. Programs, some of which are open to non-citizens

NHGRI (the National Human Genome Research Institute) has various training awards, including post-doc fellowships in genomics and related ELSI topics. They also have a Genome Scholar Development and Faculty Transition Award that includes support for 1-2 years of post-doctoral research as well as for 3-4 initial years of a faculty position. Open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
The NSF has a specific program of Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biological Informatics. These are open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are recent (<2 yrs.) Ph.D. graduates. This is separate from the general NSF Post-Doc and pre-doc programs. NSF also has a International Research Fellowship Program (IRFP) for training abroad.
In some (not all) past years, the Program in Mathematics and Molecular Biology (PMMB) has offered post-doctoral and graduate student fellowships in to expand the application of mathematics (including statistics & computer science) to molecular biology.
The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation offers early-career (starting faculty) fellowships in Computational and Evolutionary Molecular Biology.
The NRC Research Associateship Program supports post-doc associateships (also associateships for established scientists) for work in federal research laboratories.
The NIH offers post-doctoral fellowships in Genome Analysis and Technology, and other opportunities can be found by searching the NIH guide. Open to US citizens and to permanent residents.
Post-doc fellowships are available for research in complex adaptive systems at the Sante Fe Institute (main locale of work must be SFI, but there is support for off-site work as well).

Non-U.S.A. or International Sources

Below is the short list of fellowships I have been able to find easily (I'm sure more opportunities exist). Few or none of these are specifically targeted toward computational biology:

For Latin American scholars from the Pew Charitable Trust
Short INRIA fellowships from France
EMBO (European Molec. Biol. Organization) Fellowships for individuals with Ph.D.s from EMBC member states (listed here)
NATO/NSF Fellowship to visit from any NATO collaboration partner country (eastern Europe & the former Soviet Union); see also the U.S. CRDF or Civilian Research and Development Foundation for the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union
The HFSP (Human Frontier Science Program) supports research in Neuroscience & Molecular Biology, and offers fellowships to fellows going to, or coming from, an eligible country (many EU states, also Canada, Japan, USA).
For United Kingdom post-docs, the Wellcome trust offers an International Prize Travelling Research Fellowship.
